I like this rendition. Others are fast but I like this one.

The guitar pays homage to the delicate crystalline quality of Scarlatti's sonatas. And it perhaps add the warmth of this instrument, which differs so sensitively from the harpsichord. Each reveals one of the deep and diverse souls of this music. A real and intimate pleasure, thank you.

SURREAL INCREDIBLE BREATHTAKING ETHEREAL MOVING AND HEARTFELT This piece is a prime example of why for me, as a classical, flamenco and neoclassical metal guitarist for 23+ years, Domenico Scarlatti as well as Alessandro are always and will be two of the most influential, GREATEST, most supreme composers who ever walked the earth. My highest praise and laud to the performer harpsichordist, also, who performed this piece FLAWLESSLY with passion, style, flair and dynamics. AWESOME, EPIC PERFORMANCE of one of Domenico's GREATEST WORKS!!! Baroque FOREVER!!!! \m/

Solo una breve aportación: desde hace no menos de treinta años soy el feliz poseedor del CD del que procede esta pequeña gran joya de la música universal. Para quienes quieran saber algo más sobre ella y su autor, Diego Ortiz, ahí está la Wikipedia. Respecto al CD, transcribo desde su contraportada: Jordi Savall, viola de gamba Genoveva Gálvez, clavicímbalo y órgano positivo. Con la colaboración de Sergi Cassademunt, viola de gamba tenor Producción dirigida por Roberto Pla Grabación realizada en la iglesia visigótica de San Román de Toledo Tecnico de sonido Peter Willemöes El órgano positivo utilizado en esta grabación fué cedido por el director de Ars Musicæ, Enrico Gispert Grabación sonora original de Hispavox, S.A., Madrid (España), 1970. El CD data de1993 y siempre ha estado entre mis favoritos. Sobra decir que lo conservo como oro en paño.

I became familiar with Domenico Scarlatti and much of Baroque music listening to my daughter play piano through her lessons over a dozen years. Scarlatti, whose virtuosic repertoire doesn't even come into the picture until Level 10 or 11, was quite a revelation for me! As a guitarist, the compositions seemed immediately transferable to my instrument. This collection serves listeners like me (and my daughter) well.
